OMNIBUS PLAY PART IN EMMY WINS

CONTROL and automation solutions from OmniBus Systems have played a key role in three companies recent Emmy wins: digital solutions providers Quantel; UK independent national news providers, ITN; and San Francisco-based news broadcasters, KGO-TV.
All have recently won Emmys for 'outstanding achievement in technological advancement' from the USA's National Academy of Television Arts And Sciences (NATAS).
The awards for Quantel and ITN recognised 'Pioneering effort in digital asset management for television news production', following the successful development of the world's first tapeless news system -Inspiration at ITN’s Grays Inn headquarters in London.
Inspiration is an integrated news production solution from Quantel and OmniBus Systems. It features OmniBus machine control, media management and play-to-air technology integrated with Quantel video server and editing technology.
Keith Cass, ITN’s Director of Technology, said: “We now use OmniBus automation, journalist editing and media management solutions on all the programmes we provide to ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and the ITN News Channel, (a joint venture with leading broadband company NTL). OmniBus technology plays a key role in enabling us to deliver efficiently produced high-quality programming to our viewers and we feel that its contribution to Inspiration was instrumental in helping us achieve our Emmy win.” (CD)
