India's top news channel based on Omnibus expertise

OmniBus Systems supplied equipment and expertise to Sahara TV's 24-hour news channel, which went on to become the number one in India.
The channel, launched in February this year and principally controlled by OmniBus' market leading broadcast automation, is now India's most watched 24-hour news channel.
Since India's state TV's monopoly ended in 1992, India's commercial broadcast industry has flourished, with news programmes often outperforming entertainment shows. Already broadcasting one national and three regional news channels 24x7 and planning for three more before Christmas, Sahara TV's 24-hour news channel is a classic success story with its transition from unknown to best-in-class in less than one year.
UK-based OmniBus began work with the broadcaster in September 2002 to build a facility from scratch and its integrated module, Columbus, now controls media ingest and asset management, editing, playout, third party devices from manufacturers including Leitch and integrates with AP's Electronic News Production System. Helping to create one of India's most sophisticated broadcast news operations, OmniBus manages workflow and archive access for around 150 of Sahara TV's journalists simultaneously.
Sahara TV's vice president of engineering and operations, Rajendra Singh Chauhan, said: "The true value of Sahara TV's immense success is in the ground-breaking regional and national service we provide to our country. OmniBus have worked closely with us on both a personal and corporate level and, without the support of all our business partners, a project of this scale would not have been possible."
