BBC One Announces Brand New Cooking Show Featuring Mary Berry

BBC has announced its brand new cooking competition show 'Britain's Best Home Cook', featuring judges Mary Berry ('The Great British Bake Off'), produce expert Chris Bavin, and chef Dan Doherty.

The show is coming soon to BBC One and will be hosted by Claudia Winkleman ('Strictly Come Dancing').

It will pit 10 home cooks across the nation against each other as they live in a shared house and compete for the crown of Britain's Best Home Cook. They will face a comprehensive range of culinary challenges, from fabulous feasts to the nation's favourite dishes, and all things in between.

Over eight episodes Mary Berry, Chris Bavin and Dan Doherty will set challenges that ask the cooks to demonstrate individual flair, skill, creativity and breadth in their home cooking. The themes chosen get increasingly more challenging and technically advanced, setting the cooks apart in terms of their abilities and skills. Each week they must make an ultimate home favourite and then create an improvised dish around a single ingredient - before it boils down to the elimination round to decide who is going to leave the competition for good.

Britain's Best Home Cook (8x60') was commissioned by Charlotte Moore, Director of Content, and David Brindley, Head of Commissioning, Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment. It is being made by KEO Films where the Executive Producers are Andrew Palmer, Matt Cole, Claire Nosworthy, and Clare Paterson. The BBC Commissioning Editor is Catherine Catton.
