GatesAir Appoints New Intraplex Broadcast Sales Manager

GatesAir has appointed Tony Gervasi as Intraplex Broadcast Sales Manager.

Mr Gervasi will focus on channel management and creating brand awareness for Intraplex products throughout North and Latin America. He will report to Director of Intraplex Sales Steve Paulson.

Broadcast industry veteran Mr Gervasi has 18 years of engineering and executive management experience at Nassau Broadcasting. While there, he worked regularly with Intraplex products across his many engineering projects, which included the design and construction of 10 full multi-station facilities in 13 east coast states. He has continued to work with Intraplex products upon leaving Nassau Broadcasting, both as an engineering consultant and as sales manager for 305 Broadcast, a distribution firm based in Miami.

"As a broadcast engineer who has purchased, implemented and used many Intraplex products over the years, I'm in an excellent position to ask the right questions and help our customers find the best networking solutions for their requirements," said Mr Gervasi. "Intraplex products have always been renowned for their reliability, but there is a broader set of opportunities that broadcasters can take advantange of with Intraplex as they transition to IP. I will be out in the trenches and working closely with inside sales channels, attending SBE meetings, and talking directly to broadcasters, with a goal of creating more awareness about what is possible with today's Intraplex product range, from our fixed microwave STL solutions to our IP Link codecs."

He added that the reliability associated with Intraplex TDM networking and fixed microwave STL systems like HD Link have carried over to Intraplex Audio over IP solutions, with built-in technology that will help broadcasters strengthen redundancy in signal transport; and more effectively manage network bandwidth to enable new services and business opportunities. He specially points to the new Intraplex IP Link 200A, which enables AES67 compatibility in signal transport, and the latest Intraplex SynchroCast technology for time-locked audio networking across SFNs.

"Tony's depth of experience in broadcast engineering will prove invaluable to the continued growth of our Intraplex brand, from addressing the specific pain points that broadcasters face with IP and TDM networking to effective implemententation and use our products," said Rich Redmond, Chief Product Officer, GatesAir. "His expertise offers a high level of credibility while working with our channel partners and end users, which strengthens our ability to capitalize on existing and emerging business opportunities across the Americas."
