GatesAir To Unveil Intraplex IP Link 200A At NAB

GatesAir is set to make a significant mark in interoperable audio networking with the reveal of the Intraplex IP Link 200A.

The global leader in wireless, over-the-air content delivery solutions for radio and TV broadcasters is set to unveil the product at the 2018 NAB Show in Las Vegas (April 7-12).

The IP Link 200A allows broadcasters to seamlessly interconnect studios and remote locations, including transmitter sites, using the AES67 standard and any of today's encoding algorithms across wide-area IP networks. It is also a hybrid model that interconnects AES67 and Analog/AES3 signals simultaneously, and enables conversion between the two formats.

With channels for both, users still operating in Analog or AES3 mode have a future-proof path to an industry-adopted Audio over IP standard. Additionally, those operating in mixed mode can seamlessly convert between the AES67 and Analog/AES3 as desired. In any scenario, the IP Link 200A simplifies the cabling and removes limitations on location of the codec.

"With IP Link 200A, Broadcasters have flexibility to interconnect audio using AES67, Analog/AES3 or in a mixed mode and provides a transitional path to an all-Audio over IP interconnect," said Rich Redmond, Chief Product officer, GatesAir. "Its design simplifies the cabling and interconnection requirements from our codecs to the wide area network, and provides our customers with a true AES67 Audio over IP device that is interoperable with today's leading Audio over IP solutions, including WheatNet-IP, Ravenna and Livewire+. The IP Link 200A is a timely innovation that adds to our long legacy of intelligent IP networking solutions."

The IP Link 200A integrates stream reliability and network security, as well as including GatesAir's Dynamic Stream Splicing software, which mitigates IP packet loss and eliminates off-air time through multiple redundant streams. Dynamic Stream Splicing borrows data from these redundant streams, which can live on the same network or separate paths. GatesAir's integration of a firewall and advanced packet filtering capabilities strengthen network security, protecting against outside intrusions to ensure rock-solid, on-air signal protection.

The IP Link 200A will be demonstrated alongside other recent Intraplex innovations, including the ultra-bandwidth-efficient Intraplex IP Link MPXp for digital (AES 192) and analog FM MPX transport; and the Intraplex IPConnect for rock-solid data transport across IP networks. New features and capabilities for the IPConnect will be announced in March.
