Profanity Delay For Mind Media Awards 2017

News Image
Time Delay TV has supplied the profanity delay equipment to Kinura for The Mind Media Awards 2017 in London's Leicester Square.

The broadcast was transmitted around the world via Facebook Live and HRH Prince Harry gave a key award. Time Delay TV ensured that there were no slips of the tongue by the guest presenters or recipients picking up their awards.

Darryl Rose, Managing Director, Time Delay.tv, says: “It was an honour working along some amazing people for a star studded awards event raising awareness for the Mind charity. Sometimes, when recipients receive their awards, they get carried away and use an expletive when they shouldn't have, so our equipment makes sure that viewers ears are protected.”

Sky's flagship TV show Soccer AM uses the equipment for the odd slip-up of a guest's tongue, along with MTV EMAs, BBC Music Awards and Big Brother, I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, The V Festival, The MOBO Awards and various Live Streamed internet events.

Time Delay.tv is Europe's only company dedicated to broadcast compliance of live TV and uses their HD/SD Pipeline machines, which can instantly cut out profanity words and/or pictures. Time Delay.tv has worked on many other live, reality and entertainment shows over the years including Celebrity Love Island, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Time Team and Hell's Kitchen.

As soon as the offending word or sentence is heard, a button is pressed for as long as the offence occurs. A built-in reaction time is triggered, and five seconds later the word comes out clean by inserting an auxiliary video/audio source. In a live situation, there is no second chance so decision-making has to be spontaneous, and accurate. Time Delay.tv gives the broadcasters this immediate cushion.
