TWOFOURTV ANNOUNCE NICKELODEON COMMISSION

TWOFOURTV are continuing their expansion into children’s and youth programming with a new commission from Nickelodeon.
‘Reach for the Stars’ is an 8 x 30’ formatted entertainment series that follows eight kids as they learn what it’s like to live like their favourite celebrities.
From chart topping pop acts to famous footballers, each episode will follow one lucky fan as they step into the shoes of their idols and attempt to acquire the skills they need to make it to the top.
Presented by Steve Wilson (ex Children’s BBC), the series is due for transmission in March 2002.
‘Reach for the Stars’ will be Executive Produced by twofourtv’s Director of Programming, Melanie Leach and Directed by Neil Edwards and Maria Knowles.
Nickelodeon’s Head of Original Production, Joe Godwin, who commissioned the show, said: “Reach for The Stars is a fantastic concept and is totally in-keeping with Nickelodeon’s philosophy – ‘the adventure of being a kid’. The show allows viewers to interact with the Nickelodeon brand and with their favourite stars too. Think back to when you were a kid, what could have been more exciting than finding out just how your favourite pin up star lives and how they got to their heady heights of fame?” (CD)
