New Entertainment Show Heads To Channel 4

A new entertainment show has been commissioned for Channel 4, it has been announced.

Host The Week will see a celebrity guest host an episode for one night only – as well as take part in a number of unrehearsed sketches as they are put into a series of unconventional situations. The host will not know what is coming next. Other features of the 3x60' show will see the famous faces co-host a satirical news show, present their own chat show, and even play host to a game show with real life contestants. Each segment will celebrate the guest host's life and career, while providing topical comedy.

Scarlett Moffatt has been named as the first guest host of the show. Leading the celebs through the experience will be a troupe of talented improvisers and character comedians – directed by Tom Parry from award-winning sketch group Pappy's.

Host The Week was commissioned by Ed Havard, Channel 4's Head of Events, Entertainment & Sport and Tom Beck, Head of Live Events and Commissioning Editor for Entertainment. From Tiger Aspect, the series will be filmed as live in front of a studio audience and will start later this month. The format was created by the Tiger Aspect Entertainment development team.
