Trilogy at heart of Saudi TV digital upgrade

Trilogy Broadcast have delivered a substantial order for the Ministry of Information (MoI) in Saudi Arabia for Riyadh TV, the leading television station in Riyadh.
The system, which includes a large Commander Digital Intercom Matrix, four Orator Digital TDM intercom systems and Trilogy Mentor Plus SPG/TSG's, will form the backbone of the station.
The Trilogy installation performs a vital role as part of the extensive digital upgrade project at the headquarters of Saudi Television. This is being supplied and installed by Modern Media Systems, Sony's exclusive distributor, based in Riyadh, and UK systems integrator EML-TI. The system will be used for the first time in December 2003 when the station's digital upgrade is complete. The Saudi broadcaster have since placed an order for additional Commander and Orator equipment to enable it to launch an additional news channel that will link back to the intercom already supplied for the station's core.
Commander provides a highly reliable digital audio matrix offering complete control of every crosspoint gain from PC or individual panels using powerful Windows-based configuration software with online options. Commander and Orator systems can be linked in any combination using audio trunks and intelligent data links.
Using DSP technology, the Mentor Plus is the most flexible SPG/TSG package available. It provides unsurpassed levels of stability and accuracy, with virtual jitter-free outputs in both free run and genlock operation; vital factors when operating sophisticated broadcast equipment.
