Red buyout financed by management

Award-winning postproduction and visual effects company Red have announced a buyout by their management team, Stephen Luther, Simon Leppington and Gary Szabó.
Following a court protection mandate, the management team has privately invested in the company and increased their ownership share to nearly 100%. After an in-depth review of the business, the decision was reached in order to facilitate future growth and investment of Red.
A reorganisation of Red has also taken place in order to make the company more focussed and efficient and they are moving forward with a clear strategy to focus on their core markets of commercials, feature film, music videos and broadcast graphics.
Red will remain a full service post-production facility, offering experienced and talented people, utilising the latest equipment, in a friendly, relaxed and professional environment. They have just delivered a number of high profile pop promo’s including Girls Aloud track ‘Jump’, taken from Richard Curtis’ upcoming film, ‘Love Actually’ and the latest promo for Westlife.
Latest commercials work include Tennants Lager, Vidal Sassoon (Ionic) and the entire re-branding of the UEFA Champions League, the title sequence for 'Sweet Medicine' along with two sponsorships for Britvic J20 and Motorola ITV Film Season.
Managing Director Stephen Luther commented: “Red is a great business but it has been effected by market conditions and terms of investment. With a long-term future in view the Directors have privately invested in the company and made cost reductions in order to have a viable, profitable and sustainable business. We are all very positive about the future, otherwise we would not be putting our money where our mouth is.”
