Mumbai's Prime Focus order MRMC Milo

Prime Focus Limited, one of India's most innovative television and film production facilities, have purchased and installed a Milo motion control rig from Mark Roberts Motion Control.
The Milo will be used to create visual effects for feature film productions and commercials in conjunction with Prime Focus's broad inventory of cine, HD and standard-definition digital video cameras.
Located in Mumbai at the centre of India's massive film industry, Prime Focus provide a broad range of creative and technical services.
Managing Director, Mr Namit Malhotra, said: "India has always been very creatively competent but lacked the technology to achieve realistic visual effects. Many Indian filmmakers have worked with Mark Roberts Motion Control systems overseas and the news that Milo will be available in Mumbai has already generated a lot of enquiries from producers wanting to use motion control. We have a fully-fledged post-production studio to handle compositing and ancillary effects."
In addition to the Milo motion control rig, Prime Focus have ordered nine metres of Mark Roberts Motion Control Precision Rails, supplied in three metre sections, plus Grip Sticks which allow the Milo rig to be pushed manually, recording the exact position and movement to be replayed for subsequent takes, giving a ‘wild’ camera action. Also included is an Arri interface enabling Milo's Flair software to control camera speed, zoom, focus and aperture.
Milo is an Academy Award-winning live-action system with 13 axes of recordable and repeatable camera motion. Its 166 kg base weight and 160 kg turret provide rigid support for a wide range of cameras. Milo can track at up to two metre/s, rotate without limit at 30 degree/s and lift through +/- 45 degrees at 24 degree/s. The camera support arm can be extended by one metre at 38 cm/s to give a four metre lens height. Unlimited pan and roll rotations can be achieved, each at up to 120 degree/s, and up to 290 degrees of tilt.
