VSC complete state-of-the-art dubbing facility

VSC Design have announced the completion of a state-of-the-art dubbing facility for well-known Soho-based equipment hire company On Sight.
VSC Design was involved from the outset and with On Sight, jointly specified the equipment required for the project. VSC also designed the workflow and carried out the installation at prepared premises in London's West End. At the heart of the facility sit two key pieces of equipment: a Snell & Wilcox Alchemist Platinum and a Pro-Bel Sirius HD/SD HD router. The former caters for the format transfer (PAL to NTSC for example), while the latter allows the connection of a vast range of equipment and caters for all-important HD signals.
Ray Barnard, technical resources manager, On Sight said: "We are leading the hire market with HD and we are now doing the same with dubbing."
VSC built and tested the system at its technical facilities in Teddington before then installing it at On Sight's West End premises.
VSC was chosen for the project for several reasons, as Simon Craddock, co-founder of On Sight, said: "With VSC you know that you can rely on the company to get the job done to the highest standard. We have engineers here who are quite capable of carrying out the work. However, I make the comparison with hiring an accountant to handle tax returns. While I could fill them in, the accountant will more often than not save both time and money. A prompt turnaround was crucial, according to On Sight, because it allowed space in the building that was otherwise a cost to be turned into a cash generator more quickly. Craddock highlights the fact that VSC excelled in this regard: "VSC found the best solutions for us at the best price. I thoroughly recommend the company and its processes."
