BLUEFIN TV Currently Filming Tutankhamen Special For The Travel Channel

A team from Bluefin Television are presently in Egypt filming a documentary about the mysterious death of the young, King Tutankhamen who died 3,500 years ago. Howard Carter unearthed his tomb in 1922 and the discovery has fascinated generations ever since.

The one–off special is a spin off from the highly successful, 'Mysteries at the Museum' series which Bluefin have been filming with Optomen Television. The series, produced for The Travel Channel, is now in its sixteenth series.

Following on from the Cuba Special, filmed by Bluefin last year, the Tutankhamen documentary is being fronted by the American presenter and adventurer Don Wildman.

DoP, Ant Leake, "This trip promises to be really fascinating with special access to King Tutankhamen's tomb and artefacts some of which have not been displayed before. We are shooting with the Sony F55 and Fs7 and are taking a Polecam system and drone too. Most of the filming will involve hand-held, presenter led pieces to camera but there will be plenty of time for the pyramids and the desert too."

Bluefin Television have been working with Optomen Television to film the current series of 'Mysteries at the Museum' for The Travel Channel and have recently had teams filming in Norway, Greece, Poland, Germany and the Channel Islands.

'Mysteries at the Museum' is currently airing on the Travel Channel in the US and the UK. The Tutankhamen special is due to be aired early in 2017.

Bluefin Television supply equipped camera-crews to both broadcast & corporate clients and also offer equipment dry-hire and specialist filming services.
