BLUEFIN TV Film New BBC Series – 'Talking Chefs'
Bluefin have just finished filming for a new BBC series – 'Talking Chefs', due to be transmitted in early 2018 on BBC World and The Travel Channel. The show features Michelin-starred Chefs.
Following on from the successful, 'Talking Books' series, the programmes feature Chefs such as, Galton Blackiston of Morston Hall Hotel in Norfolk and Angela Hartnett of Limewood in Hampshire.
BBC Presenter Gavin Esler conducted the first interviews at a stunning villa location on the French Riviera, high above Cannes.
The multi-camera shoots threw up a variety of challenges for DoP Ant Leake.
"We shot on the Sony Fs7 Mk II cameras, with the new Fujinon MK lenses for this series as speed, flexibility and lens range were important. When the FS7's are set up properly they produce a lovely natural look too. With harsh mediterranean light to contend with we used a range of lighting for the series, including Kino Flo, ARRI & Dedo lamps. I was very impressed with the new Fuji 18-55mm & 50-135mm lenses; these inexpensive Cine-zooms worked well for us and punched well above their weight. Centre-crop enabled us to get all the close-ups we needed too."
The Chefs all have fascinating back stories to tell as well as being able to prepare the world's most sublime dishes. Gavin spoke at length with each Chef, discussing their cookery, writing, travelling and inspirations. Fiona Oates from BBC Arts Produced.
Bluefin Television have been BBC 'Approved Suppliers' of Equipped Crews since 2006, supplying crews for Factual, Arts, Docs Current Affairs & Lifestyle programming.
