First Shopkins Film To Be Released

News Image
UPHE Content Group, an entity of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, is to distribute the first full-length Shopkins film. The movie will be available on digital, DVD and TV in Autumn 2016.

Based on the world of Shopville, Shopkins tells the tale of inanimate objects coming to life and their adventures with their best friends – the Shoppies. Shopkins, made by Moose Toys, is a collectible line of tiny characters that has resonated with children across the world by inspiring imaginations.

Since launching in 2014, Shopkins has become a global phenomenon with each season offering 140 different Shopkins characters to collect, complemented by a range of Shoppies Dolls. Its animated webisode series has amassed almost 100 million views on YouTube alone.

Belinda Gruebner, Marketing Director, Moose Toys, said: “We are thrilled to bring the world of Shopville to life in a fun, new way. The success of our YouTube webisode series is testament to the fact that our fans are content hungry and we see this full-length film as the ideal platform to invite our fans on this next adventure of the Shopkins journey. It's fantastic to be working with a partner such as the UPHE Content Group as their global presence, distribution strength and creative approach make them the perfect long-term partner for Moose.”

“It is rare you see a brand become such a global phenomenon so rapidly,” said Helen Parker, Executive Vice President, UPHE Content Group. “This is the ideal time for us to partner with Moose and bring this rich storyline to life with a new and engaging full-length offering that will no doubt excite Shopkins' ever expanding and fiercely loyal fan base. This is Moose's debut feature-length piece and we are excited to be a part of this journey. We see this as the start of a successful partnership."

The first ever Shopkins film marks the screen debut of the Shoppies characters, alongside Shopkin’s fan favorites Kooky Cookie, Apple Blossom, Lippy Lips and Cheeky Chocolate. The storyline will focus on new Shoppie in town PeppaMint and her attempts to win over the friendship of the other Shoppies Bubbleisha, Jessicake and Donatina with the help of their Shopkin friends. The DVD will be packaged to include an exclusive Kooky Cookie character.

The full-length Shopkins film will be available this Autumn.
