Da Vinci Systems' parent emerges from Chapter 11

Da Vinci Systems' parent company, Acterna Corporation, has emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, just five months after its initial filing.
"We are pleased to announce that we have emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy much earlier than expected, and we would like to thank our customers, suppliers, and partners for their support and patience," said da Vinci CEO Michael Arbuthnot. "da Vinci looks forward to continuing its focus on engineering top-quality film and video enhancement and restoration systems by acting responsively to customers' requests and to developments in the industry. We will continue to be a strong and viable company and focus on customer service and new product development.
"During Acterna's reorganization, da Vinci continued its commitment to remaining a leader in film and video technologies. The company recently launched several new products, including the Resolve family of software-based color enhancement systems with configurations for visual effects work and digital intermediate production, plus its first real-time 2K processing system. Recently, da Vinci also introduced its brand-new Nucleas digital intermediate product suite, which includes ingest, server interface, conform, and format modules to facilitate an end-to-end, integrated digital intermediate workflow.
