PROVYS Care: "Wellness for Broadcasters"
The health of any modern business depends upon the efficient and effective utilisation of its resources. Broadcasting is no exception and represents one of the most complex areas of business today.

The most noticeable of these at NAB was the Broadcast Management Dashboard (BMD) which was chosen as a finalist in the Game Changer Awards competition. Narrowly missing first place, the BMD was nevertheless highly evaluated by the independent panel of expert judges including John Ive, Technical Director of IABM, who described the BMD, at the awards ceremony, as follows: "The Broadcast Management Dashboard is a high-powered, consolidation tool for collecting and displaying any management information in a clear and intelligible visual form, customised for individual managers, e.g. finance, chief executives, producers, channel managers, schedulers, media managers, air-time sellers, VOD publishers, and all their teams. Drawing upon existing digital data, the need for reporting is minimised by a real-time display of all current outputs measured against agreed KPIs. Broadcasters' cost and time savings are immense as all this information is available without even the need to click."
Among the most recent developments of Provys's unique integrated software solutions for media on show at NAB was the software for Automated Promotional Campaigns. Self-promotion campaigns are the Elixir of Life for all broadcasters as they inform and attract viewers to future programmes thereby guaranteeing a higher audience participation with its concomitant increase in advertising revenues. The proper scheduling of this critical campaign activity across all channels is extremely complicated and carries the risk of achieving nothing from wrongly timed promotional slots. The optimum timing for each particular promo campaign can guarantee to reach the maximum potential number of the most appropriate audience and considerably enhance future advertising income.
Using its vast global broadcasting experience, Provys has produced new features in its software solution aimed at optimising and balancing the risks against the rewards. This previously most enigmatic of management problems can now be brought totally and automatically under control for modern broadcasters, so the schedulers need only concern themselves with fine-tuning in the event of some special considerations.
Finally, we should say a few words concerning new developments in the world of non-linear (VOD) services which are becoming more and more a part of the armoury of ancillary services for 21st century broadcasters. The biggest headache in this field is the precise management of content rights, which in themselves cover a multiplicity of parameters (time, region, number, expiry, platforms, etc.).
The new features of Provys VOD software brings enhanced efficiency of content planning to all aspects of non-linear workflows, removing any risks of error in the procedures.
