Salvation Army studio install Amek Media 51 console

Amek, the Manchester-based manufacturer of professional audio mixing consoles and signal processing devices, have supplied a 44-input Media 51 multi-format analogue console to a major Norwegian studio.
The Salvation Army's FA-Studio in Oslo took on the Media 51 to fulfil their needs for an automated, surround-capable console that could handle the facility's full range of commercial productions.
The Amek product offers multi-channel bussing, stem monitoring and down-mixing facilities, supporting a range of broadcast and cinema surround sound formats – including LCRS, LCRSS, 5.1 and 7.1. As standard, the Media 51 is fitted with Amek's acclaimed Supertrue V.4 console automation which provides fader, switch and event automation, Virtual Dynamics and Recall. Supertrue is cited as having the largest installed user base of any console automation system in the world.
The FA-Studio had specialised in purely internal Salvation Army projects in the past and have recently expanded to include commercial projects. The company have also recently invested in a Tascam MX2424 hard-disk recorder, and their other equipment includes Lexicon, TC Electronics and Sony signal processors, plus Genelec and Dynaudio monitoring loudspeakers.
Studio Chief Engineer, Morgan Evja, said: "Our technical requirements, and our clients' expectations have grown in line with our expansion resulting in the need to invest in new facilities. The Amek Media 51 suited our immediate needs, as well as our future plans for film and TV work in 5.1 surround."
