Successful CABSAT For Custom Consoles
Custom Consoles has reported a successful CABSAT 2016, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre, from 8 – 10 March.
"Over the years we have built up excellent business relationships in the markets CABSAT addresses, assisted by the appointment in January 2015 of Phillip Jameson as UAE-based Regional Sales Manager," said Managing Director Neil Reed. "CABSAT is particularly valuable to us in attracting systems integrators based in the Middle East as well as European SIs active in this region. We expanded the size of our show stand this year and put a lot of effort into its design which, for one reason or another, tripled the number of visitors to the stand.
"The show was attended predominantly by broadcasters as usual though we also had discussions with visitors active in the wider process control business. The attendee catchment area ranged from southern, central and northern Africa right across to India. Market conditions were surprisingly upbeat considering the current state of the oil market."
Some of the company's products on display at the show included the MediaPost portable monitor mount – its first CABSAT appearance following its introduction at IBC 2015. MediaPost is a free-standing portable monitor mount matching the styling and build quality of Custom Consoles' established MediaWall. Monitor panels of up to 65 inch diagonal screen size can be accommodated as well as auxiliary devices such as loudspeakers. Other applications for MediaPost include studio floor monitoring, script display prompts and in-view studio backgrounds.
Each MediaPost is constructed from extruded aluminium profiles, black or silver anodised, forming a rigid 1,806 millimetre high column. These are supported by a 700 mm wide x 590 mm front-to-back base fitted with rear wheels to allow easy positioning. The base and a middle-height equipment shelf are finished in a matte black powder coating. Loudspeaker mounts are available if required.
An optional horizontal beam matches the finish of the vertical columns. MediaPost is fully height-adjustable to ensure sight lines are optimised when using tilting screen mounts. Cables can be fully concealed behind removable covers. MediaPost comes with a two-year guarantee against component failure during normal use.
Also unveiled at CABSAT was the latest version of the EditOne desk. The new version follows the existing structural configuration but has powder-coated underside legs and pods. Work surface and shelf finishes are now available with oak-effect foil applied by a thermoform press which follows the contours of the base it to which it is applied.
The EditOne range of furniture is designed for flat-pack delivery which allows fast despatch to site. Assembly can be performed quickly and easily by the customer using the supplied Allen key and screwdriver. An on-site assembly service is available.
Examples of Custom Consoles' established Module-R user-configurable technical furniture and Media Wall monitor display mounting system were promoted at CABSAT.
Neil Reed added: "Both these product ranges continue to be in very high demand, forming the core of many broadcast control room installations around the world. Their ongoing success can be attributed to the experience we have gained in hundreds of projects we have been privileged to partner in since we commenced business 20 years ago."
