Custom Consoles Reports 'Strong Interest' From CABSAT

Custom Consoles has returned from CABSAT 2015 reporting "strong interest" in its broadcast control room and edit suite furniture.

"CABSAT is a show we find well worth attending, along with IBC," says Custom Consoles MD Neil Reed. "We meet a lot of existing and potential clients who find its location more convenient than Amsterdam. 2015 was no exception. Quite a lot of new projects were under discussion which is always a useful indicator of potential business.

"This year we expanded our booth size from 12 to 18 square metres. That gave us space to promote the latest versions of our Module-R, SystemTwo and SystemTwo Lite ranges of technical furniture. All are long-established and in successful use around the world. The latest versions are available with an expanded selection of finishes, including high-strength profiles panels.

"Module-R continues to attract strong demand both for its inherent robustness and versatility. It gives system integrators or indeed end users the ability to configure robust and attractively styled desks to match practically any desired width. The Module-R range includes a choice of high-quality pods, base sections, 19 inch rack housings, worktops, end-panel modules and legs. Coordinated desk pods are available as single-bay sections with up 10 rack-unit chassis capacity. Monitor display screens can be attached easily to the desks either on fixed brackets or operator-adjustable Ergotron arms. These are frequently specified for computer displays.

"We also exhibited a compact example of our MediaWall monitor support system. This is used by many of the world's leading broadcasters for large video displays. The latest version incorporates a series of improvements including narrower front-to-back depth, reduced from 600 to 500 millimetres. MediaWall is fully self-supporting and retains the option of adding coupling brackets directly to the studio wall. Another important recent refinement allows individual display screens to be positioned so that their edges form a continuous horizontal monitorscape. MediaWall incorporates height-adjustable horizontal beams suspended between 2.3 metre high aluminium columns. Equipment pods with 19 inch racking behind removable vented panels can be incorporated at floor-level.

"We also showed at CABSAT our SystemTwoLite multi-element furniture system. This retains the electric adjustability of the standard SystemTwo but is is a simpler structure with dual flat-screen monitor mounting arms. The SystemTwo range includes the S2-01B desk and S2-02B shelf, both electrically adjustable in height from 660 to 1,250 millimetres. It can accommodate free-standing or pod-mounted equipment such as graphics workstations and editing terminals."
