SSL to reveal latest products at NAB 2002
At booth L2731 in this year's NAB 2002 event, Solid State Logic will introduce the Aysis Air Plus 'SC' – a specially configured console for owned and operated stations, affiliates and others seeking cost-effective transition to digital broadcasting.
The SC console's traditional 32-fader and channel strip design makes it easy for operators to progress from analogue to digital mixing, and the standard complement of analogue and digital I/O is sufficient for a wide variety of applications.
For total on-air reliability, the SC console has built-in redundancy and security features including hot-swappable faders, while stereo or 5.1 surround capability makes the console more flexible across a range of broadcast tasks.
A member of the 'A-Plus' family of digital consoles, the SC benefits equally from SSL's resource sharing capabilities that deliver substantial workflow and productivity benefits to the broadcast installation.
Also scheduled for release at NAB 2002 is the new MT Version 6 software for SSL's MT Plus and MT Production digital consoles. The V6 incorporates a number of new automation and processing features including new channel and main bus dynamics options. Designed to emulate the sound and feel of traditional analogue processing, these add considerably to the engineer's available palette and extend creative opportunity.
With the introduction of V6 software, MT becomes the first digital console to feature a selectable moving/non-moving fader control surface. While moving faders are the norm in digital consoles, in some situations the benefits of non-moving fader control and group masters are particularly advantageous.
