Channel 4 Commissions 7Wonder Productions For New Cookery Show

Channel 4 has commissioned a new cookery show from 7Wonder Productions.

'My Kitchen Rules UK' is a 30 x 60 series based on the Australian version of the show, currently the country's number one television programme.

Hosted by Steve Jones in a competitive elimination format, cooking duos will create pop up restaurants in their own homes for the judges and rival contestants to savour.

Contestants will have the chance to win a £10,000 prize and the title of Britain's Best Home Chef.

Host and co-judge Steve Jones said: "This show is about real people making really great food; showcasing the very best of regional produce and pride in local dishes. Britain has got such a rich and diverse food heritage and I can't wait to get my teeth into it."

Executive Producer Eve Kay added: "Pop up restaurants are the latest addition to the UK's ongoing food revolution and a brilliant way for amateur chefs to show off their cooking skills and passion for food. An entertaining national competition pitching different regions against each other will bring out the best in British food and should discover exciting new food talent."

Daytime Entertainment Commissioning Editor, Syeda Irtizaali, said: "We are delighted to be bringing our own distinct version of this highly successful Australian series to Channel 4 with the brilliant Steve Jones at the helm, alongside top chef names."

'My Kitchen Rules UK' is set to air later this year.
