'Most advanced' Broadcast Centre in Europe opens

BBC Broadcast, the commercial arm of the BBC, providing channel management services to both the BBC and other companies, have opened their new Broadcast Centre.
They have also secured the channel management contract for the BBC public service channels until December 31 2012. The channels include BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three and BBC Four, which will be among the first channels to be played out of the new facility.
The Broadcast Centre, part of the neutrally branded media village in White City, West London, will house the playout, channel management and creative teams for international channels, BBC channels and other broadcasters.
The Centre is at the heart of BBC Broadcast’s vision to lead a major shift in broadcast media management from the traditional tape-based formats to digital media, transforming their capability to playout, present, manage and repurpose rich media content for any platform and any broadcaster.
