ATG webcast live from IBC 2003

Internet-based live television webcasting was demonstrated by ATG Broadcast throughout IBC 2003, proving the technical and operational ease of using ATG-designed corporate streaming systems.
The enabling equipment centred on a ViewCast NiagaraMAX portable webcasting system, which made its European debut at IBC 2003. Part of ViewCast's family of Niagara streaming systems, NiagaraMAX allows live or on-demand webcasting.
ATG Broadcast's streaming technologies specialist, Brian Moriarty, said: "Sourcing from a tripod-mounted 3-CCD Sony PD-150 camera on the ATG exhibition booth, we were able to stream a continuous daily feed of interviews and exhibition-related content from 09.30 to 17.45. These were augmented by a pre-recorded fill-in used during pre-programme set-up. The system performed superbly, showing what can be achieved in terms of programme output from a remote site."
The NiagaraMAX webcasting system is exceptionally portable, occupying an internally cushioned aluminium briefcase small enough to fit a standard aircraft overhead luggage holder. All the components of a fully equipped high-performance digital encoding workstation are included.
ViewCast's exclusive SimulStream feature allows concurrent streaming in Microsoft and RealNetworks formats. An integrated CD-RW drive enables live events to be archived as they happen.
