Ealing studios and industry professionals back nature film

Ealing studios have recently provided space for at a heavily discounted rate to support Nitrate films in producing a film for Greenpeace called 'The Ancient Forests'.
The film highlights destructive exploitation in the world's remaining ancient forests. The film has been created to draw the attention of the general public to the plight of the threatened eco-system and the upcoming UN meeting on forest ecology in April. At the UN summit, 189 governments from across the planet will meet in The Hague, Holland, to agree on a 10-year plan for the ancient forests.
'The Ancient Forests' was narrated by Ewan McGregor and Sir David Attenborough and directed by Julian Temple. Mr Temple had previously directed on films such as 'Pandemonium' and 'Filth and Fury', and he along with all the other artists on the project donated their services.
The plight of the planet's natural resources has come sharply into focus as about 80 per cent of the world's forest cover has been lost. If the current rate of destruction continues, many species of animal native to an arborial habitat will in danger of extinction, including man's closest relatives – the great apes.
'The Ancient Forests' will be shown in front of the new Working Title/Universal film 'About a Boy' in the UK that will later receive a global release.
