Lights... Camera... Action; Film Expo South Take ONE!

Three words synonymous with a film crew starting a new take. Here's another three: Film Expo South! We want these three words to trip off the tongues of every person involved in the film industry in the south and across the UK, writes Lynn Payne.
Film Expo South is coming to Southampton on 4 February 2016. The first of its kind in the South, this exciting exhibition promises to be a one stop shop for all things Film.
Actors, producers, directors, writers, camera technicians, make-up artists and anything in between will be represented at this event. So if you're a fledgling film maker, maybe a student, or a veteran, successfully established in the industry, Film Expo South really is a must, to see – and be seen – at!
Gillian Tully, CEO and Founder of FES, told Broadcast Film & Video: "Having worked in TV and film for more than half of my life, it has become very obvious to me that there was no large platform or event where people and organisations from the film industry could showcase their skills and services under one roof."
Gill, whose acting credentials include TV, Film and the West End, is passionate about filming. With her passion and drive, together with her knowledge and contacts with some big players in the film industry, she explained: "I had to do something to address the lack of a film industry event, across the South Coast, where networking and new relationships between key decision makers can be forged; where contacts can be made, ideas shared. The opportunity for collaboration, inspiration and engagement for the South's huge pool of talent is why I decided to embark on this exciting challenge and create Film Expo South."
The event, which will be held at The AGEAS Bowl, has already attracted significant interest and is receiving fantastic support from Itasca Films Ltd, Laceys Solicitors and Social Heroes. Visitors to the exhibition can expect to see stands from across the filming spectrum, as well as having the opportunity to attend workshops and learn from specialist speakers; including the likes of Producer and Director Malcolm Walker, Cinematographer Trevor Coop, Assistant Director and Production Manager Terry Bamber, and one of the top Acting and Dialogue Coaches in movies, Mel Churcher, to name but a few. There will also be competitions to win funding for budding new film makers!
As an exhibitor, this is a fantastic chance to raise the profile of your product or services to an audience whose passion is film. In the run up to the event, your film enterprise will also feature in a huge online promotion reaching over 60,000 film businesses. Being part of Film Expo South, either as a sponsor, stand holder or speaker, you will also be promoted through traditional media including press and radio, social media; Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook, as well as featuring on Film Expo South's own website www.filmexposouth.co.uk.
"Let's get together and Make Movie Magic," says Gillian, "Film Expo South... Take ONE!"
