TC Electronic Announces Clarity X Updates
TC Electronic has announced updates for Clarity X and Loudness Pilot.
TC Electronic's aNorm Loudness Normalization technology will soon be made available as a license for Loudness Pilot, while the Clarity X multi-format monitoring system is updated for MADI and 96 kHz support.
Since 2014, broadcasters have adopted aNorm loudness processing on TC Electronic's DB6 platform. Now, aNorm has been unveiled in a stereo version for Loudness Pilot; the stereo incarnation of DB6.
aNorm keeps dynamics processing at a minimum by normalising the signal intelligently, and only if normalisation by itself is not enough to hit the Loudness and LRA targets, it applies dynamic processing. It also adapts intelligently, using just the right tools if dynamic processing is needed. It will not apply heavy compressing as default; for example, aNorm hits the pre-defined loudness targets without squashing the audio.
The Butterfly Meter, which is part of aNorm, displays pre and post loudness normalisation. The graph instantly provides an overview of how and why the incoming audio is adjusted.
The aNorm license for Loudness Pilot is available October 2015 for $650.
