FOX News Channel Deploys Quicklink Skype TX
FOX News Channel recently used the Quicklink Skype TX solution for news poll interviews on US election programme, 'Fox with Friends', with the Former Chief of Staff John Sununu.
The Quicklink Skype TX is a compact touchscreen 1U rack mount or desktop unit that enables professional reception or transmission of Skype calls through the SDI/ HDMI interface. The Quicklink Skype TX is ultra-quiet, ensuring news broadcasts can be transmitted without any noise interference. Fox News used the Quicklink Skype TX to transmit high quality 2-way video and audio from a remote office location back to a Quicklink Skype TX in the TV station.
Another new feature for the Quicklink Skype TX solution is a network enhancer called Bondio. This software is available free of charge for a limited period with the purchase of the Quicklink Skype TX.
Bondio improves the contributor's bandwidth by bonding a combination of internet connections together to create one super connection. This allows broadcasters to use the solution even when they have lossy networks in order to produce a single stable, high quality transmission.
