Harris offers ‘total solutions’ for Digital Age
Harris Corporation, Broadcast Communications Division, a leader in innovative digital solutions for both radio and television, have demonstrated the latest worldwide broadcast management offerings covering network access, automation, digital transmission technology, studios, and systems at IBC 2003.
Harris presented NetVX as the answer to efficient transportation of audio, video and data in a world of hybrid systems, multiple formats, numerous compression schemes and a myriad of distribution protocols.
Featuring a packet-based architecture, NetVX is a simple one-box solution that can be configured to provide the level of functionality that has required up to 14 separate components until now. NetVX allows video, audio and data to be transported over ATM or IP networks, including E-3 and DS-3 microwave networks and more, simultaneously.
Also featured at IBC was Harris Resource Suites (hrs) the broadcasting's first ingest-to-air workflow automation system.
A scaleable and modular automation system, hrs offers new functionalities and interconnections to streamline operations throughout a station, group, network or enterprise, automating labour-intensive processes such as media ingest, transcoding metadata and archiving, streamlines asset management processes and shares media seamlessly throughout an enterprise.
