Pro-Bel wins major contract from RTE
Pro-Bel have announced that Irish national public service broadcaster RTÉ (Radio Telefís Éireann) have recently ordered a full automation and playout system with numerous Sirius routers to sit at the heart of its new transmission facility.
The key components of the order comprise a three-channel Compass automation and playout system; a TX420 master control switcher for the front end; a wide range of modular ICON signal processing solutions; plus several Sirius routers. The Pro-Bel technology will form the basis of RTÉ’s current and future transmission requirements.
Marcus O’Doherty, Corporate Technology Manager RTÉ, said: “We will be using Pro-Bel’s innovative technology for our two national services for Ireland – RTÉ One and RTÉ Network 2. Due to the versatility of the Pro-Bel system, the new transmission facilities will also be used to transmit our future digital services and our interactive output for news, sports and special events.”
He added: “After an extensive research and evaluation process, we selected the Pro-Bel system because of its proven reliability and functionality - offering the most complete solution for our current and future requirements. With Pro-Bel providing the total turnkey solution for us, the project will cover all aspects of automation control, media management, master control switching and interactive playout.”
RTÉ provides five radio, two television channels, and a large range of ancillary services.
