Imagine Acquires RGB Networks

News Image
Imagine Communications has finalised its acquisition of RGB Networks, representing the company's fourth acquisition in twelve months.

"This transaction advances our leadership position in video infrastructure, advertising management and workflow solutions," Imagine CEO Charlie Vogt said. "RGB Networks’ technology, people and customers complement and accelerate our vision and roadmap defined by IP, software, cloud and multiscreen. Our goal and mission is to overcome the technical barriers that currently constrain our customers’ creativity and imagination."

Last year saw the company introduce its hybrid SDI/IP platform: Magellan™ SDN Orchestrator, as well as VersioCloud™, its fully integrated IP-enabled cloud playout platform and Zenium™, an advanced workflow management system.

"In 2015, the convergence of video, mobility and the Internet brings our industry to an inflection point. Lean-back TV viewing is moving aside for a more personalised, viewer-controlled experience," Mr Vogt said. "Consumers now demand the freedom and flexibility to view all forms of media anywhere, anytime and on any device, forcing innovators to create new technologies, architectures and business models to adapt to these rapid changes. To monetise their services and capture market share, our customers will need to migrate away from inflexible, proprietary infrastructures and adopt IP-enabled, cloud-based, software-defined networks and workflows to deliver top-line growth and bottom-line results. Our ongoing investments in innovation and leadership in these areas are helping our customers ease the transition to these more flexible, next-generation solutions."

"Video is increasingly at the center of social networking and the media and entertainment we consume. Imagine Communications is poised to lead the industry into the new frontier. We are inspired every day to exceed the expectations of our customers, delivering the tools and technologies that enable them to develop new business models to grow and monetize their content and services. We look forward to setting new benchmarks for innovation and ascending to new heights of technology advancement in 2015."
