Harry Potter Sound Editor Confirmed For BVE 2015

Exclusive interview with the supervising sound editor on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, a case study on the BBC drama Sherlock and a discussion on recording sound in extreme conditions, all confirmed for BVE 2015.

Alison Willis, Event Director, said: "With issues of loudness and dialogue clarity constantly on the industry radar and in the news, we have ensured that audio topics feature prominently right across our seminar programme. Audio professionals will also have the chance to play with the latest audio equipment from leading manufacturers including Audio Technica, Calrec Audio, Clear-Com, Glensound, Roland and Wohler."

James Mather, the Emmy-award winning and BAFTA nominated supervising sound editor, will discuss his work on Cinderella, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and Sherlock Holmes.

BAFTA Craft award winners Doug Sinclair, the owner and co-founder of Bang Post Production, and dubbing mixer Howard Bargroff explore the audio technology and techniques used on Sherlock. Pete Lee, sound recordist and engineer (Bear Grylls: Escape from Hell, Man vs. Wild), will join the panel and discuss 'The challenges and solutions of extreme shooting', while The Institute of Professional Sound (IPS) provides a guide to getting good sound on a budget.

New audio products will be on display at the show, including Roland's (Stand D16) UK debut of its live sound digital mixing console the M-5000 and HHB Communications' and Soho post-production specialists Scrub's (Stand J43) demo of the Avid S6 and S3 control surfaces alongside Pro Tools, with the latest plugins and loudness software from NUGEN Audio.

The final specification launch versions of Glensound's new audio networking products featuring the DANTE network audio protocol will also be available for evaluation (Stand N30).

Also included will be a new version of Vidchecker, v6.2, including automated audio level correction to meet the EBU R128 loudness standard (Stand R16).
