Production News - A Tale Of Two Cities...

12 drama producers based in London and Paris have been selected by Film London to take part in a new initiative to encourage and increase cinematic collaboration between the two cities.

The news follows a call last month by Film London for producers based in the UK capital working on television drama projects that could work as a a UK-French co-production. The successful producers will now take part in a six-day business programme entitled 'A Tale of Two Cities'.

Masterminded by Film London and Ile de France Film Commission, the event spans six days, two countries and offers a cross-channel business session aboard the Eurostar. It is being undertaken in partnership with the Ile de France Film Commission.

Each producer will come to the table with a TV drama project being developed that they believe would suit a UK-French co-production. If the co-production goes ahead, the projects would be able to capitalise on the UK tax relief for high-end television drama and the French Tax Rebate for International Production (TRIP).

The six London-based producers selected to take part are:

• Dominic Barlow, Barlow Pallis Films (Garrow's Law, The Revolution Will Be Televised)
• Ben Grass, Pure Grass Films (Twist, The Drake Equation)
• Lachlan MacKinnon, Intrepido (Burton And Taylor, Spooks)
• Stewart Mackinnon, Headline Pictures (Quartet, The Invisible Woman)
• Kate Sinclair, Feet Films / Company Pictures (Shameless, The White Queen)
• David Tanner, Rainmark Films (The Other Man, The Special Relationship)

From Paris:

• Christine de Bourbon Busset, Lincoln TV (Pigalle la Nuit, Tony's Revenge)
• Marie Dours, Marilou Films
• Aurélie Meimon, Mademoiselle Films (The Odissey, The Invicibles)
• Lauranne Bourrachot, Chic Films (A Prophet, Kabul Kitchen)
• Clémentine Dabadie, Chabraque Films (The Source)
• Katia Raïs, Kelija

In the French capital, delegates will attend a series of meetings and networking receptions with French producers, as well as industry information sessions, production facility tours and location visits.

The London leg of the trip will see the group head to Content London, a conference attended by international producers, broadcasters, commissioning editors and financiers. There, they will hear a seminar on UK tax relief before going on a tour of some of London's top locations.

A Tale of Two Cities is presented by Film London with funding from the Mayor of London, and Ile de France Film Commission with funding from Ile de France Region. The event is also supported by The Langham, London, Hôtel Scribe Paris and Eurostar.
