Bewley appointed as National Film Trustee Company MD
Louisa Bewley has been named as Managing Director of the UK film revenue collection agency, the National Film Trustee Company (NFTC).
Louisa Bewley, who takes over the post from Alun Tyers, is a chartered accountant and joins the NFTC from Channel Four International, where she was Director of Finance. Her role involved managing worldwide distribution and exploitation of programme rights acquired by Channel Four Corporation as well as the investment fund used to develop and co-finance projects with the independent production community. Previously, she worked at FilmFour and with Alun Tyers while at British Screen Finance and has practical experience of how the NFTC works.
Bewley said: "I look forward to maintaining and developing the renowned service that the National Film Trustee Company provides to the whole of the UK film community."
Film producer Steve Abbott, a member of the NFTC board, added his welcome: "I have 24 years experience of being a beneficiary of NFTC's excellence in collection and reporting of film revenues. Louisa at the helm, together with the hard work of our staff and strength of our systems, makes me confident that NFTC will continue to be the first port of call for British Film Producers. Alun leaves the company in great shape - he will be missed by all those who have dealt with him."
The NFTC was set up in 1971 to specialise in collecting revenue earned by UK films both domestically and internationally and to distribute these revenues to producers and financiers.
