Avid Supports Irish Sound Students

Avid has announced that Irish creative media educational institution and Avid Learning Partner, Pulse College, has launched a Masters course in Scoring for Film and Visual Media centered on the Avid Artist Suite.

The Dublin-based academy found a new home in 2009 at the Windmill Lane Recording Studios. During the studio's 36-year history, Studio 1 has hosted dozens of sessions from artists including U2, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga, along with scoring for Hollywood blockbusters such as The Talented Mr. Ripley and The Mask.
In September, the academy launched a new Masters course to complement a catalogue of further education courses already using Avid solutions. Students develop the technical and musical skills necessary to succeed as composers. They record nine ensemble pieces using the suite's industry-standard Avid Pro Tools production software and Avid Sibelius music notation software. The course culminates in a full orchestral performance of their main composition in Windmill Lane's iconic Studio 1.
