Double D Electronics to unveil enhanced systems

Double D Electronics, designer and manufacturer of a wide range of products for satellite earth stations, is to show its range of redundancy controllers, customer interfaces, RF switching systems and subsystems and remote monitoring and control systems at IBC 2003.
These include the well-established DDA70 family of waveguide switch controllers and DDA89 redundancy controllers for up/down converters and modems, both of which have been enhanced with new features.
The DDA70 products now have the option of a network port, giving a high-speed interface between an RC&M system, the DDA70 and any connected HPAs and converters. New to the DDA89 are operational features, which include the ability to select preset configurations on the standby. Redundant amplifier systems can also be supplied, using the same core controller. DDA89 supports most industry standard equipment and is widely used with equipment from many manufacturers.
Double D is also launching two new units. First is the DDA236 CIM replacement for users of older CPI TWTAs, such as the VZU2400. It is an alternative to the now obsolete CPI CIM and can also be provided in a form, which is RC&M compatible with the CPI Compact series of TWTAs. The second unit is the DDA228 LNB redundancy switch and power supply. This is a versatile 2U high unit, which provides monitored power and redundancy for up to four LNAs or LNBs in various configurations.
Double D is a specialist manufacturer and its products can be purchased as system components in other manufacturers’ products, or they can be specified by system integrators and users.
