Sony 4K Set For IBC2014

At this year's IBC exhibition Sony will showcase a range of professional A/V technological innovations and industry firsts. The company is set to exhibit in the Elicium Hall.

Sony will demonstrate its latest developments in 4K technology, following a summer of UHD landmark broadcasts for the company.
As part of the FIFA TV broadcast production of the 2014 FIFA World Cup™ tournament, Sony partnered with select firms to deliver three matches in 4K, including the quarter final match and the final itself, which were also streamed live to digital cinema screens for the first time ever in Ultra High Definition.
These followed a other 4K world firsts such as capturing the BBVA League finale between FC Barcelona and Atlético de Madrid and broadcasting the canonization of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II.
Sony will also demonstrate its IP-based solutions following the announcement earlier this year of a licensing program for the new AV over IP Interface for manufacturers.
At IBC2014, Sony will also show how it is assisting news broadcasters to modernise workflows and acquire increased data transfer speeds to reduce the time between acquisition and transmission.
