JVC seeks entries for the TVF 2004 video festival
JVC have announced that the world's largest video contest, the 26th JVC Tokyo Video Festival, ‘TVF 2004’ will be open to European entries.
In the era of high-definition filmmaking, a new addition to the awards round up is the recently established ‘High-Definition Digital Video Awards’. The new awards are aimed at commemorating the introduction of the GR-HD1, the world's first consumer high definition digital video camera. This award will be given to entrants who have skilfully used high-definition features in their filmmaking.
The festival is organised as a means of promoting the creation of content that explores the vast potential of video to deliver messages, record events, communicate information and express artistic insights. JVC is also keen to support new forms of communications through video works, such as video over the internet.
TVF 2004 will begin accepting entries on July 1 for European entrants, with a deadline of October 10.
The winners of the festival are scheduled to be announced on February 14, 2004 at the Ebisu Garden Hall, in Tokyo.
Entry forms are available from Margaret Scott email: [email protected].
The Tokyo Video Festival has been held each year since 1978 in order to expand the scope of creative activities using domestic video equipment.
Last year, TVF 2003 set a new record for participation with a total of 2,386 video works submitted from 38 countries and regions. Since its establishment, more than 37,000 video works have been submitted.
Further information on the festival, which has grown into the world's largest video contest, may be found at www.jvc-victor.co.jp./english/tvf/index-e.html
