Alias Hire Launches Training Sessions

Alias Hire, part of the DiA Media Group, is to set up a new training service with courses starting later this month.
Alias, under the banner of Alias Training, will initially offer three two-day long courses, which are 50% funded by Skillset. They include: Multi-Camera Workflow, Camera Assistants Workshop, and Camera & Grip Solutions, with over a 100 places available for freelancers, all three of which will take place in both London and Manchester.
"As a hire company we've already been doing small amounts of client training on an adhoc basis," explained managing director, Mike Smith. "But as we speak to both clients and freelancers daily we have identified a growing need for a more structured approach that can delve deeper into the subjects and techniques that will not only help freelancers enhance their career paths but is also in line with current industry demands."
Alias Training will be able to draw upon both Alias Hire's immense expertise in the field and, crucially, its state-of-the-art equipment. "We will be training using the same equipment that is currently in demand from production companies and broadcasters day in and day out, giving both freelancers and their employers the continuity they need when they take their new skills out into the workplace," said Smith.
Further courses are planned for later in the year. "Because of our position within the heart of the media industry, we can be incredibly responsive to new techniques, new cameras and technological change," commented Natalie Brady who is heading up the project. "We shall keep a careful eye on the market and closely monitor the requests for skills training that emerge as the year progresses and develop our range of future courses to fit."
