FOR-A Receives 2013 Technology & Engineering Emmy Award

The FOR-A Group has received a 2013 Technology & Engineering Emmy® Award from the National Academy of Television Art & Sciences (NATAS).
The award recognises "excellence and innovation in technology and engineering" and was given to FOR-A YEM Eletex Co., Ltd. for the development, standardisation and production of the HD serial digital interface.
The NATAS 65th annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards were presented at the 2014 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 9.
"The high definition serial digital interface technology recognised by NATAS has become the backbone of modern production, post-production and broadcast facilities," a statement from the company said.
"It is the universal interface for professional video equipment because it can carry HD data at the lengthy cable lengths needed in broadcast facilities, and supports multiple formats using just one signal interface."
FOR-A YEM Eletex (formerly called Yamashita Engineering Manufacture) also received the NATAS Emmy in 2000 for development of the Digital upconverter.
