Animation students’ films feature in London showcase
Talented young film and animation students from the International Film School Wales (IFSW) are to have their movies showcased at a special event at a cinema in London.
IFSW, which is part of the University of Wales College, Newport (UWCN), has helped the students organise the event which will take place at the Other Cinema in the heart of the UK’s film industry near Wardour Street.
Animation students Ben Cawthorne, James Tiley, Merida Selby and Hannah Ferguson (pictured) and BA Film students Alice Teage and Steven Waltham will have their films screened at a special day-long event celebrating their work.
“The screening follows on from our recent Degree Show,” said James Tiley, 21, from Abertillery, whose animation film ‘Valhalla’ tells of a solitary horseman who discovers a sinister secret among the carnage of a battlefield. “This is the second year that film students have arranged a show of their work in London and we’re all very excited about it. UWCN has been very supportive in helping us to organise it, as have our course leader Caroline Parsons and technician Stan Evens.”
The animation students plan to spend the summer working together in collaboration on various film projects.
