Pinnacle Systems begin shipping Edition 5

Pinnacle Systems have announced that Edition 5, the latest version of its mid-range video editing and DVD-authoring software, is now shipping.
Edition 5 is for professional videographers, educators, and advanced video hobbyists as well as digital media production houses and low-budget broadcasters. Pinnacle Edition 5 harnesses the processing power of the PC’s central and graphics processor units (CPU and GPU) to offer hundreds of striking real-time transitions and filters without the need for specialist accelerator hardware.
Key new features in Pinnacle Edition 5 streamline the editing workflow and help content producers create compelling professional-grade video faster and more efficiently than ever before. The new real-time accelerated graphics processor (AGP)-based 2D and 3D video effects dramatically improves productivity by allowing editors to process more video, graphic layers and effects in real time. Pinnacle Edition uses a scalable architecture designed to deliver improved performance in connection with future CPU or GPU upgrades.
Editors can also author DVD right from the editing timeline, eliminating the time-consuming process of exporting and importing files to a separate authoring application. With Pinnacle Edition’s powerful editing features, DVD authors now can create sophisticated menu structures, motion menus and motion buttons using the familiar editing tools of Pinnacle Edition.
