Danny Boyle feature now cutting on Lightworks Touch NLE

Danny Boyle’s latest feature ‘Millions’ has started shooting in Liverpool, and award-winning film editor Chris Gill is cutting the movie on Lightworks Touch, the latest iteration of the popular Lightworks NLE systems, introduced last year at IBC.
Millions is a comic tale about two young boys who stumble across the loot from a bank robbery. Problem is, the cash is in pounds sterling, and there's only a week to spend it before Britain switches to the Euro.
Gill won the RTS Editing Award last year for ‘Crime and Punishment,’ (BBC2) and is a longtime Lightworks fan. He said: “I’ve used other systems of course, but keeping faith with Lightworks has paid off for me. Originally, back in 1992, I was given half a day to learn the system for a BBC documentary. Ever since, I’ve loved the freedom that working on Lightworks provides. When you’re cutting day in day out on a film or TV drama it really does make a difference.
“The new Lightworks Touch is a joy to work with. While it employs the same intuitive control console and user interface as former machines, it’s considerably more powerful than its predecessors. In Millions we have 155 SFX shots scheduled.”
The Lightworks Touch system for Millions was supplied by UK specialist hire company London Editing Machines.
