Eyeheight Debuts Logging Legaliser At BroadcastAsia

News Image
Eyeheight, provider of 3G, 3D and HD-SDI equipment, has announced its LE-2M-K logging legaliser will make its South East Asia market debut at the BroadcastAsia2013 exhibition on 18-21 June.
Exhibiting on the Leader Instruments stand, 4C4-02, Eyeheight will demonstrate the LE-2M-K's ability "to maintain a timed log of every non-compliant video or audio event requiring correction in the course of a 24-hour transmission schedule."
This, says Eyeheight, enables broadcasters to archive a record of as-run conformance data in countries where government legislation or transmission authority regulations make this compulsory. Each action is logged complete with its linear timecode identifier. Video legalisation and loudness correction timelines can also be monitored on-screen.
The LE-2M-K incorporates Eyeheight's unique clobberRing automatic luma overshoot and undershoot suppression together with luma and chroma gain, black level adjustment, hue rotation, adjustable clipping levels and soft-clipping-knee levels.
An 'out-of-gamut' indication feed displays overshoot or undershoot severity and shows the user where on the picture any signal correction is being performed.
In the audio domain, the LE-2M-K provides automatic real-time control of perceptual loudness and true peak level using ITU-R BS.1770 multi-channel loudness and true-peak estimation algorithms.
These are coupled with proprietary correction to ensure compliance with loudness and peak-programme level requirements. Embedded stereo or surround audio loudness are continuously monitored, system gain being adjusted across all channels to stay within the loudness limit while preserving audio imaging.
Also on show at Broadcast Asia 2013 will be the CC-2M colour corrector. Deployed recently during broadcast coverage of the 2013 London Marathon as well as the Oxford and Cambridge Boat Race, the CC-2M is an auto-sensing system allowing independent real-time adjustment of red, green and blue component levels, master gain, lift, gamma and hue.
A preview output provides a configurable split screen showing the processed and unprocessed image. Up to six CC-2M colour correction cards can be housed in a 1 rack unit FB-9E chassis and operated from an FP-9C control panel with self-legending illuminated pushbuttons.
Eyeheight’s LE-2M-K logging legaliser and and CC-2M colour corrector are both equipped to handle 525/625, 720 and 1080 line content.
