Prolight + Sound Returns

Prolight + Sound Shanghai is to return this October with an expanded LED display area and interactive fringe programmes.
Following last year's 10th anniversary celebrations, the show is promising for this year an "all-inclusive business platform for Asia’s entertainment and event technology professionals".
The 2013 show will be held from 10 – 13 October, running concurrently with Music China at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. It is organised jointly by Messe Frankfurt and INTEX Shanghai Co Ltd.
Commenting on this year’s show, Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd said: "I am glad to announce that 80 percent of exhibitors from last year’s show have already confirmed their participation for our October show, occupying 35,000sqm across three halls. We are also optimistic that many more suppliers will sign up in the coming weeks."
Confirmed exhibitors include those in pavilions from Germany and Taiwan and suppliers from France, Korea, the US and the UK. There promises to be a wide variety of audio, visual, lighting and stage equipment and AV integrated products.
In 2012, the show attracted 414 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions and 20,038 visitors from 76 countries and regions.
For 2013, a record number of visitors are expected including buyer delegations organised by industry related associations such as the China Audio Industry Association, China Performance Trade Association, Shanghai Performance Trade Association, Shanghai Municipal Association of Culture & Entertainment Industry, Shanghai Multimedia Industry Association and the China Hotel Association.
Visitors will be able to enjoy an expanded LED display area, which will double the size of 2012 area. Participating suppliers include Chip Optech, Dicolor, GTEK, Gloshine, INFiLED, Lightking, Lightlink and RGBlink. The expansion is a result of increasing demand in China for LED products for events and performances. Another reason is the rise in China’s export of LED displays which was around RMB 5.16 billion (USD 832.26 million) from January to August 2012, a 31 percent increase compared with 2011.
Prolight + Sound Shanghai will also host a series of fringe programmes led by industry leading brands, associations and experts. The popular and Asia’s largest Concert Sound Arena also returns to the show.
