Directors Battle For 'Zombie's Choice'

News Image
Amateur horror filmmakers are being encouraged to get creative with the macabre, as the second annual Four4 short film competition is announced.
Film production company River Film has launched the competition, sponsored by Raindance Film Festival and All About Careers.
Aspiring film makers looking to become the next John Carpenter or Dario Argento are being tasked with writing, directing and producing a horror film of just 16 seconds
The work must consist of just 4 shots, each 4 seconds long, totalling 16 seconds of film content (excluding title/credits).
The online competition is open to anyone over 18, of any background and experience and offers a great opportunity to get discovered and recognised with the industry.
The winner of the Zombie's Choice Award - the film receiving most votes from a public Twitter vote - will take home £1,000 cash.
The winner of the Raindance Judges Award - the best film as voted for by an expert panel of judges - will win a place on either the Write & Sell the Hot Script or Lo-to-No Budget Filmmaking courses at Raindance.
Mark Millen, Creative Director at River Film, said: "Last year's competition saw some incredibly creative entries and we're proud that the winner Rob Savage went on to win a host of awards for his debut feature film Strings.
"River Film strives to support talented young filmmakers and Four4 offers the perfect opportunity for these creative individuals to get noticed in the industry."
The deadline for entries is May 10th 2013, with the top 10 shortlisted films being announced a week later.
