Gorilla Joins The Joint

Wales's largest TV facilities group Gorilla has announced it is joining forces with Soho-based post house The Joint.
Cardiff-based Gorilla has been quick to emphasise that The Joint's management and creative team, led by its MD Sarah Mackay, will remain in place and lead the company's future developments.
The company will offer The Joint its technical expertise and investment, as well as creative input into collaborations on future projects.
The investment is key to Gorilla's expansion plans, giving it an enviable foothold in London and adding to its bases in the Welsh capital.
Richard Moss, Managing Director of the Gorilla Group, said: "I see partnerships between post companies that share a similar ethos and creative drive becoming increasingly important in the current climate - all sides gain from it. Where Gorilla relationship with The Joint will work is with our technical knowledge and experience of growth. We have already had discussions with the team about future technical developments and plans are underway to put the neccessary infrastructure into place."
Gorilla is also looking at upgrading HD monitoring at The Joint for grading and finishing work in all Avid Suites. The Pro Tools suite will also be upgraded to version 10.
Rhodri James, Technical Director at Gorilla, added: "It’s a very exiting time for us; part of our plans include expanding cloud services at The Joint by installing Forscene - the industry standard in rushes review and edit approval in the cloud. In future we hope to build on file delivery platform, enabling The Joint to deliver the new DPP standard AS11."
