Thomson Broadcast introduce new SD, HD and DC cameras

Thomson Broadcast Solutions have announced three new additions to their wide-ranging camera portfolio – the LDK 5000 standard-definition camera and two versions of the LDK 6000 MkII hi-definition/digital cinematography.
Marc Valentin, Vice President of Thomson Broadcast Solutions, said: "The LDK 5000 and LDK 6000 MkII family provide the high-quality and incredible flexibility for which our cameras are well known. Whether you're looking for the best-standard images available with a definite path to high-definition tomorrow, the flexibility to shoot high-definition natively in both interlace and progressive formats, or the film-like quality of digital cinematography, these three new cameras offer the industry a range of choices of high-quality image capture."
The LDK 5000 includes high-resolution, high-definition CCDs that provide greater performance. It features HDTV CCD sensors from which all SD formats can be derived, optimal aliasing and resolution performance, 12-bit analogue-to-digital conversion and 22-bit high-definition digital signal processing.
The LDK 5000 camera comes equipped with a powerful toolset, including focus assist tools and dual-skin contour controls. THe LDK 5000 can be configured for a variety of applications including triax, dockable EFP, and full-featured studio/EFP with the use of a SuperXpander large lens adapter and an optional seven-inch viewfinder.
With its multi-format capabilities, the LDK6000 MkII Worldcam is most suited for outside broadcast vans, major production facilities, rental houses and organisations with diverse production format requirements.
In addition to the formats supported by the LDK 6000 MkII Standard, the Worldcam system provides 24p digital cinematography formats in 1080p and 720p. The Worldcam system also provides built-in frame-rate conversions for cost-effective monitoring and recording.
With sales of $9.3 billion last year and 73,000 employees in more than 30 countries, Thomson provides a wide range of video technologies, systems, finished products and services to consumers and professionals in the entertainments and media industry.
