Top TV extras website up for sale
Extras.tv, the UK’s leading online TV and film extras directory, is shortly to be put on the market for sale.
The website, www.extras.tv, was launched in February 2001 and immediately achieved a high level of interest throughout the industry. Mr Baker has said that the site represents a "superb opportunity", however, commitments to other web business interests has meant that extras.tv is no longer receiving the necessary time to administer the rapid turnover of hits.
Site-owner Martin Baker said: "This site represents a superb opportunity for someone wishing to get involved in this exciting industry but unfortunately due to other internet business interests I am unable to focus on extras.tv. The site is unable to achieve it’s full potential whilst I am in this position."
He added: "I felt that the site would need time to become established and envisaged working slowly over a five-year period to become established as the best TV and film extras site. The site is already becoming well known by AD’s and production companies and we have had lots of requests for help with productions."
Mr Baker has decided to offer the business for sale to the "right buyer" and as the domain name is recognisable and memorable, he anticipates a lively response.
"I think the domain name is what has made the site so popular, plus the fact that people can get their own web page with photo’s and web address for just under £30 per year,” he said.
The domain has the potential to register up to 10,000 people throughout the UK and the database can be searchable by area, making it useful for productions across the country.
Income gathered from the registration process, together with other advertising revenue, will allow for good growth potential.
The annual renewal fee for this domain name compared to the registration fee for www.extra.tv is now $50,000 every year.
The domain may also be considered for lease on contract.
For further information call 01253 350001 or (mobile) 07939 210880.
