Improved ITC web site launched

The ITC have re-launched their web site, www.itc.org.uk , to improve the ITC's external communications and their service to viewers.
The new-look site now includes more information about television in the UK and developments in new media. A section of the site, 'The Digital Age', sets out viewer choices in digital television and there are extensive links throughout the site to external sources of related information. For the television sector and its observers, a quarterly updated review of market information and trends is provided.
In a section called 'How Can We Help You?', users can contact the ITC's Viewer Relations Unit, and submit enquiries and complaints about programmes and advertising. Users can respond to the ITC's public consultations online, view responses to past consultations and there are links to Frequently Asked Questions where appropriate.
A new addition to the site, 'TV In Your Area', focuses on the nations and English regions, offering information on regional television services and the ITC's operations across the UK.
Improved search facilities include a news release archive search option and a site map. A 'text-only' version of the site is available for users with visual impairment, and information about television subtitling, signing and audio description services is provided for those with hearing and sight disabilities.
ITC Director of Public Affairs, Nations & Regions, Richard Peel, said, 'Our new web site offers much more information for viewers and a better interface with those who want to contact us. It will improve our accountability as we move towards new communications legislation.'
